My name is Joshua Thorndycraft and I have been interested in web design since 1997 when I got my first computer. There's nothing quite like creating something artistic out of content, code and a few images. Until 2010 I was mostly self taught and felt like I was learning at a snails pace. That is when I decided to start taking classes at Oakland Community College. Since then I have graduated with two certificates and have found a new passion and respect for web design.

Media Network of Waterford
June 2010 - June 2013Volunteer Web Master
Media Network of Waterford is a public access television station for Waterford township and surrounding areas and broadcast on both Comcast and AT&T U-verse. I have been a volunteer at Media Network since 1993. In 2010 I approached Joshua Bowern, Executive Director of Media Network, about redesigning the web site using blogging software called WordPress. By using WordPress I was able to give Media Network a highly customizable web site with easy ways to add/edit new content.
Another new software I used on this project is called Woopra. I use Woopra to analyze realtime user visits to the site and also analyze past visits. The info collected by Woopra helps me determine kind of design elements I may want to add to the site and what pages are getting visited more often than others. Woopra collects info such as a visitors County, City, Search engine use to find the site and visit duration. System info such as Operating System (Windows, Mac, Android phone, iPhone), browsers, screen resolution and languages.
